Understand. Connect. Empower. Make a Lasting Impact.
Bridging the Divide: Clinical Foundations for Working with Veterans and First Responders is a full-day training designed to help clinicians better understand, connect with, and support veterans and first responders in treatment.
This training integrates lived experience, clinical science, and real-world strategies to help clinicians show up with confidence and cultural humility. Participants will explore the military and first responder mindset, treatment hesitancy, the power of brotherhood, and the unique clinical needs of those who have experienced combat, critical incidents, and service-related stress.
Throughout the day, participants will gain insight into how trauma affects the brain and body, including what combat and critical incident exposure can mean in therapy. The training will also address grief, hidden losses, and the ripple effects of service on loved ones and the family system.
Participants will learn about evidence-based treatment modalities and how to match interventions to this unique population. The training will also include discussion of psychopharmacology, collaboration, and psychedelic-assisted approaches, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy.
A recorded veteran interview will be woven throughout the day, offering firsthand experiences that bring each topic to life and deepen understanding.
Attendees will leave with actionable, trauma-informed strategies they can begin using right away to support real stories, real connection, and real change.
