Trauma Counseling

Trauma Counseling is an approach that recognizes and emphasizes the understanding of how the traumatic experiences impact an individual's mental, behavioral, emotional, physical, and spiritual well-being. Trauma counseling is rooted in understanding the connection between the trauma experience and the individual's emotional, behavioral, and physiological responses.

The purpose of trauma counseling is to offer skills and strategies to assist in better understanding how you cope and process your emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences. The end goal of creating a healthier and more adaptive meaning of the experience that took place in the individual's life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) is a comprehensive, integrative psychotherapy approach to treat PTSD. Clinical Hypnotherapy: Clinical Hypnotherapy relies heavily on a model of the mind that includes conscious and subconscious aspects. These two parts of the mind have different functions and work together to help people navigate day-to-day life. The subconscious mind contains our memories, beliefs, habitual patterns, and past learnings. In the case of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), the memory of a traumatic event can get “stuck” in the subconscious, resulting in adverse reactions whenever an external stimulus reminds the person of the original trauma. Because PTSD is deeply connected with subconscious phenomena, hypnotherapy can be an effective solution for people suffering from the effects of past trauma. In hypnosis, when the subconscious mind is more active and accessible, the clinical hypnotherapist can help the person resolve the traumatic memories and experiences that have become challenging. Following the clinical hypnotherapy protocol, adverse reactions and behaviors can be reprogrammed and consequently can lead to reducing client’s symptomology.
